The Gathering

Part 2

By CelineV

Colorado Springs, CO

A van was waiting for them at the Colorado Springs airport. Cal was driving as he thought Randi wasn't well enough to drive. Even though the cast was on her left foot. You drive with your right foot. Well Randi wasn't in the mood to argue with him. Big man and when he gave her that disapproving look, Randi just gave in to him. It was a hellva lot easier.

"Ma'am, why are we going to an Air Force base?" asked Cal over his shoulder to Randi, who was sitting in the back with her leg up on the seat.

"Why not, Cal? We are going to get to the parking lot where Jack will have his Jeep parked and have some fun with him. I know where he keeps an extra set and we'll get in and wait for him. It will be funny," said Randi with a smile.

"Ma'am, we are Navy, how in hell are we going to get on to a Air Force base? They aren't going to throw open the gate for us and let us waltz in. So pray tell me how we are going to get on base?"

Randi leaned forward and patted Cal's head. "You are a worrier when you don't know what is going on. You are a Navy Seal and you have access to almost anything, if you know how to use it. Even if it means using the other services to do it. Just have your badge ready to show them and watch the world of the Air Force open up it's gate to us." She handed her badge up to Cal.

He took it and put it on the dash with his.

The base gate was about an mile up the road. Cal wasn't believing that they were going to get on the base. So he didn't really think that it was going to happen.

The guard at the gate, was watching the van as it pulled up. The mountain of a man was driving and a woman was in the back of the van. She looked like she was stretched out on the back seat.

"Can I help you?" asked the Sgt.

"Hello," called Randi, from the back seat. "We've came to see Colonel Jack O'Neill."

Cal handed the Sgt. their badges.

The Air Force Sgt. looked at the badges and then back at the people. A NAVY SEAL, HERE TO SEE COLONEL O'NEILL. THAT DOESN'T SOUND GOOD

"Does the Colonel know you are coming?"

"No, he doesn't know we are here. We want to go to the parking lot. I want to play a joke on Colonel O'Neill. He will be leaving very soon and I want to be in the parking lot before he leaves." Randi very slowly moved up to the other seat in front. "Is there going to be a problem with us going on the base?"

"Well ma'am I will have to check with General Hammond about this," said the Sgt.

"Go right ahead," said Randi.

Cal looked at her and thought this isn't going to work, Randi. You don't always get your way.

The Sgt. turned back to the guard shack, went in and picked up the phone. He dialed a number and waited a second. "Yes, General Hammond, there are a couple of people here to see Colonel O'Neill." There was a pause. "No sir, they are Navy and they have their badges. They want to wait for the Colonel in the parking lot. " There was a pause again. "It's Capt. Randina C. Oblee and Lt. Calvin Jones USN. Capt. Oblee is being driven around by Lt. Jones. Her left foot is in a cast." He stopped talking for the third time. He listened to General Hammond speak. Looking over at the van and then looked way again. "Yes, sir, I will. Thank you General Hammond." He hung up the phone and going back out to the van. "Here are your badges back. You go through the gate and turn left. You will see the parking lot then." He saluted them and opened the gate for them.

Cal looked over to Randi, "How do you do it?" He started up the van and went the way the Sgt. told them to go.

"Oh Cal, just lucky, I guess." She smiled at him.

Cal pulled the van into a parking space in the lot. Randi reached around for her crutches.

Opening the door to the van, Randi slipped out to the ground. Cal came around to her and held his hands out to her. She looked up at him and then up to heaven. She turned around and hobbled away from the van. Randi started to look around the parking lot looking for Jack's Jeep. The man was a creature of habit. He always had a Jeep and it would be his baby. She spotted a Jeep a couple of cars away. She hobbled over to it. Going around to the back bumper, she reached down under it and found a little box. The Navy emblem was on it.Randi started to laugh. That smarted aleck. She showed it to Cal. He smiled at it. Opening it up, Randi removed a key and used it to open the door up. She reached over and opened the other door. Cal climbed into the Jeep. Randi put the box that held the key on the floor next to the stick shift.

Opening up the jockey box, Cal started to look through it. "Hey we could be in the wrong Jeep," said Cal as he kept looking. Randi just sat there and smiled. It was Jack's Jeep. The Navy box proved it. She had given it to him about a million years ago. She did it as a joke. She was surprised that Jack had kept it for so long.

Randi heard some voices off in the distance. About where the base entrance was. It had to be Jack and his group getting off for their two week furlough. She leaned forward on the steering wheel to see who was coming. She started to engine of the Jeep and pulled out.

When Jack O'Neill saw his Jeep come out of it's parking space, he almost had a heart attack.

The Jeep came straight at them and stopped.

"Hey that's my Jeep!" Yelled Jack as he ran up to the side of it.

"Only when I am not driving it, Jack. Possession is 9/10 of the law. Even in the Air Force it works that way," said Randi as she rolled down the window. She smiled at him.

"For crying out loud, Randi. You aren't suppose to be here until tonight. Stop being Mr. Scott and be yourself." Jack was trying to sound angry, but he was smiling too much. "Randi, you are the biggest pain in the butt, but man I love you."

"Mr. Scott?" said Capt. Cater and Daniel Jackson together. There could only be one Mr. Scott and that was from Star Trek, but they didn't get it after that.

"Why thank you, Colonel O'Neill. I love you too. Say are you going to introduce me to your friends?" Randi opened the Jeep door and slip out. She leaned on right foot until the crutches were pulled out of the vehicle. Cal was out already and on the other side of the jeep standing next to Randi. "This is my friend a Navy Seal, Calvin Jones. Yes he is an escapee of the Rocky Mountain range, but heck he isn't bad Seal for being a Mountain too."

"Hello," said Cal. ":I am glad to meet you Colonel. Randi has told me lot about you and the band of merry souls."

"Well whatever she told you was the truth, up to a point. I do not have point toes. Ears, yes, but not the toes," said Jack O'Neill as he hugged Randi. He stuck out his hand to Cal. They shook hands. Jack was just smiling to beat the band.

"You know Jack, you can let go of me. I promise not to escape on you or fall over on you either," said Randi. She hadn't opened her eyes since Jack put her in this hug. Now this was heaven.

"Well if I have to, OK I will let go." Jack let go of her and stepped back. "You look great. Where have you been, besides Paris?"

"Oh I have been working on my tan. We just got back a week and half ago. Just in time for me to go to the wedding, but I broke my ankle before the wedding. Let me tell you, I am at the top of my cousins Gabriella's hit list. Good thing the French are so forgiving! So who are your friends, Jack. You are getting so rude in your young age." She smiled at Jack.

"This is Doctor Daniel Jackson and Captain Samantha Carter. The big guy in the back is Teal'c and over there is Doctor Janet Fraiser." Just as Jack had introduced all of the group, General Hammond walked over to them.

Randi looked at the General. She had a very good idea why he was out there. He was going to ask her some questions to which she would not answer the way he wanted her to.

"This is General Hammond, Randi. He is our CO. Sir this is my friend Randina Oblee. She is in the Navy, so forgive her."

General Hammond saluted Randi. "Captain, it's nice to meet you. I heard about your phone call this morning. I want to know how you were able to get a phone call into this base without going through the switchboard."

"CAPTAIN" Jack said. "You are a Captain. When did you became a Captain?"

"Never mind that, O'Neill," said General Hammond. "How did you get a call into the base without the switchboard?"

"Well General, that was easy. There is someone on your base that I know besides Jack. I blackmailed him into doing me a favor of playing with the phone lines. As soon as the call was done the lines went back to the way they are suppose to be. Don't ask who it was, because I won't tell. Go ahead and throw me into the brig, but I still won't tell. I will be there long after you retire and Jack can't stand going through the Stargate any more." She laid it out to the General and the rest that she knew what they did in the mountain. If they wanted to play hard ball, she could and would. She would never let Uncle AJ know about this little stunt. He would kill her for sure this time. "Don't worry about Cal, he won't get involved with you throwing me into the brig."

"I won't let them do that to you, Ma'am," said the Navy Seal.

"Yes you will Sailor. My fight not yours," said Randi.

"WHOA!!!" yelled Jack. "Now lets not start world war 3 here. General, she won't tell you. Her hackles are up and so are yours. Just let it go, sir." The General stared at O'Neill as if he was crazy. "She won't give in. I can promise you that. I don't know how she knows about the Stargate, sir, but I didn't talk to her about it. She does this all the time. That is why she is the Navy's number one black ops."

"Yes, well Captain, I think you had better keeping you nose out of the Air Forces Business. I will let this past, but if you ever do this again, Captain Oblee, I will hang your ass out to dry. Do I make myself clear to you?"

"As a lake, sir. Though in the future, you might want to change your mind on me." she smiled at the man. "And may I add sir, that you are more gung ho then your file said." Randi saluted the General. She started to laugh. Cal could see that Randi wasn't to steady on her foot and crutches. He reached out and grabbed her shoulder.

"You are going to that bar out on highway 83?" asked Randi.

"Yes, that is the plan. We go out there in a couple hours. After we go home and change out of our uniforms." said Samantha.

"OK, cool then. Cal and I will meet you out there in a couple hours. I want to go to the hotel and get my foot up for a while. Here Jack," said Randi as she throw the spare keys at Jack. Turning around, Randi started to hobble away with Cal right behind her.

"Randi, are you sure you want to go to a bar and talk. I can come over to the hotel and we can talk there?" Asked Jack as he followed her away from the rest of SG1.

"No, Jack the bar is fine. I have a wheelchair that I will be bring with me tonight to keep my foot up. Since I am on pain meds, I won't be drinking any thing stronger then Pepsi. Oh, Jack please tell me they serve Pepsi there?????"

"I don't know Randi, but I will find out. Which hotel are you staying at?" asked Jack as he was laughing.

"At the MotorInn. I am cheap. What can I say!!" said Randi

"OK Randi. I will call out to the bar and see if they serve Pepsi," said Jack with a smile

"Cool, Jack. It's bad enough that the Pepsi plant in Burnsville, MN have been on strike. You have to get me Pepsi or I will start shooting Jack," said Randi with a smile.

"OK Randi, will do." Jack said as he walked back toward his Jeep. Man was it good to see her. He had forgotten how crazy Randi could be. When he reached his co-worker, "Well that is Randi in all her glory. Are you sure you want to go to a bar with her????" Jack smiled at them.

"O'Neill, to meet someone that you know outside of SG1 will be interesting," said Teal'c. The Jaffe lifted his eyebrow. He could not tell them yet, that he realized that there was something wrong with the woman. She could be a danger to the group, but the Jaffe was willing to give her a chance to prove that she was not a danger to the group or the planet.

Randi and Cal went back over to the van. She throw in the crutch on the floor and pushed them out of the way. She then crawled in on her knees in the back. Hauling herself back on to the seat, Randi put her foot up on the seat. Cal was in the drivers seat and getting ready to start the van up.

"Captain, you never told your friend your rank. Why is that, ma'am?" asked Cal.

"Because Cal, for me the rank isn't important to me. If I was the President of the United States that would be a different matter, but I am not. I am just a member in the United States Navy. Which I am very proud of, but being Captain or Admiral, Lt. Commander. None of that is important to me. So like get me to the MotorInn so I can take a pain pill and lay down for a while."

"Yes, ma'am," Cal started the van up and pulled out of the parking space. Randi waved at Jack and the others as van went by them. "by the way, what is a Stargate?"

"Oh that is something the Air Force is working on, Cal. It is top secret, so don't bring it up again." said Randi as she got comfortable on the seat.

"Yes Ma'am." said Cal.

Jack smiled at his friend. There was always something about her, that Jack just loved. He was never in love with Randi, but he loved her. He would do anything for her too. As she would do for him. When Charlie died, Randi moved heaven and Earth to be there for him. Even though he wasn't much good at the time, Jack knew she was there and knew all the stuff she did for them too. Not only did Randi pull the strings for a military service guard of Navy and Air Force. She had them there in just a few short hours. Jack always meant to ask if the Sailors where from her unit. He never had the nerve to ask. It still hurt Jack too much and he was afraid it might hurt Randi too.

"Colonel," asked Capt. Carter as they walked toward their cars. "I wanted to ask you a question?"

"Shot Capt." said O'Neill.

"You called Capt. Oblee, Mr. Scott from Star Trek, why?" asked the Air Force Capt.

Jack started to laugh. "Randi is a Star Trek fan, just don't ask her if she is a Trekker or Trekie. She hates those terms. She told me about one of the movies about the Enterprise being damaged and Capt. Kirk asking Mr. Scott how long would it take to fix her. Scott said four weeks, but since you don't have four weeks, I'll do it in two. Kirk says something about multiplying his work time by 4 or something like that and Scottie says how else could he keep his title of miracle worker if he didn't. Randi was suppose to meet us tonight at the bar, but instead she is here hours earlier. That is one of the reasons she is so good at black ops." Jack opened his jeep door. "See you guys tonight?" Everyone said yes and Teal'c got into the jeep with O'Neill. They took off for O'Neill's place. Samantha gave Daniel and Janet a ride home.

That night, Cal was out in the van waiting for Randi. She had sent him out first. When she closed the door to the room, she was putting something in the pocket of her coat. She wasn't being to steady on the crutches. Cal was getting the door open when Randi got herself under control with the crutches. She came over to the side of the van and opened the front passenger door of the van and crawled in.

She smiled at Cal."Lets go Sailor Moon. A bar full of beautiful women are waiting for you!!"

Cal started to laugh. As Cal started up the van, Randi took something out of her coat pocket and put it on the floor of the van in the back. She looked at Cal and then looked out the window at the traffic go by.

When they got to the bar, Cal got out first and pulled out the wheelchair out of the back. He opened it up and waited for Randi to get out of the van, when she did, she sat down in it. They went into the bar. Jack had been waiting for the Navy to show up. When they came rolling in, Jack waved at them over. They had a table in the back of the bar.

Everyone was sitting around the table, including General Hammond. Randi thought this was going to be an interesting evening.

"Hey everyone," said Randi as she came rolling up.

"Well don't you look nice in your new wheels, when you aren't stealing them," said Jack.

"You are just jealous that I didn't get passed you with your Jeep." laughed Randi. She looked at Jack for a second. "Please Jack tell me about the Pepsi. Or do I go bananas and wreck the place."

Jack laughed, "Yes they serve Pepsi. I'll get you a pitcher of it." He got up from the table and walked up to the bar.

Randi looked at the others for a second, and asked the General, "So are you going to sit there all night and glaring at me? Or am I going to have to prove my worth as a hu man be ing?"

"Well that have to be seen. Captain, I don't see you as anything more then a security risk," said the General. He leaned forward on the table toward her. "You will need to move heaven and Earth for me to see you as any thing else."

"OK, General Hammond, I can move Heaven and Earth for you. It might take me a bit to do so, but once I get this cast off, you will have it." She smiled at the man. He didn't know what she could do and she could surprise the hell out of him.

Jack brought over the pitcher of pop to Randi. He handed her the glass with ice in it. "So how quick are you going to down this, Captain??"

"Don't Captain, me Jack. I hate that rank crap. All it proves to me, is that my Uncle pushed me into something that I didn't want. Up ward and on ward. Is anyone going to dance? I mean, why waste the music. I could sing."

"NO," yelled Jack and Cal.

"You can't sing, Randi and you know it." said Cal.

"Critic!" said the female with a laugh.

"I wanted to ask you, Captain Oblee..." said Daniel.

"First off it's Randi and if you call me Captain again, I will have to steal your glasses." said Randi.

"OK," said Daniel. "What I wanted to know is if you are related to a R.C. Oblee that found that Archaeology dig in Egypt in 1960's?"

"Oh Gosh, you would have a good memory on stuff like that." Randi moved so she could reach the pocket on her coat. She pulled out her wallet. Digging around a bit, she removed a piece of paper and slid it over to Daniel. "You can keep it if you want."

Daniel picked it up and saw that it had the Egyptian office of antiquities emblem on it and Randina Chegwidden Oblee name was written on it. The card meant she was a qualified Archaeologist in Egypt. "You are RC Oblee?"

"Yea, but don't spread it around," said Randi.

"You are the youngest person to find an archaeology site with some major finds," said Daniel.

"Yes, I know. I was visiting my Uncle Seg Oblee in Egypt. We were wandering around in the desert, looking at the sites and I was playing with some kids and was running all over the place and tripped over something in the sand. It was the entrance to a tomb. They made a major production out of it. I thought it was pretty cool, but I couldn't keep any of the really cool stuff. So my Uncle had a copy of a vase from the site made for me. Jack, you've seen that vase I keep in my office. That is the copy."

"You never told me that before, Randi. You are famous!" said Jack.

"Well there is some people who like fame and there are others who don't like fame. I am one who don't like fame. One of the reasons I never use my law degree. "

"You are a Lawyer?" said Jack.

"Yea, I was going to follow my Uncle AJ into the Navy, a Seal and a lawyer. I didn't think about the fact that they don't let females into combat." She shook her head. "I wanted to keep with the Chegwidden family tradition. My Brother is keeping up the Oblee tradition, so I don't have to worry about that." She turned to Jack, "So now you know a tab bit more of the scary stuff." If they knew how much that was crap. Albert could care least about the Oblee tradition. He is hiding out at some Admiral's office, working his way through to retirement. He will hide from the family and it's responsibility. What a bloody chicken shit.

"You should be proud of that card, Capt.. Randi. That is not a card that is easy to get. Most Archaeologist would kill for that card from Egypt. They don't give those things out to everyone that graduates with a degree in Archaeology," said Daniel.

"Well Doctor Daniel Jackson. I will give you the card and the honor that goes with it." said Randi as she moved her wheelchair back a bit. She picked up her glass and took a big drink of her Pepsi. She put the glass down on the table, "I give it all to you, sir. I sure didn't wanted it nor do I want to be on their roll call of things." She raised her eye brow atthe Doctor. She picked up her glass again and lend over Jack, "Did I scare him too badly?"

"No I don't think you have scared any of them, well yet. It's a good thing that you are drinking any thing stronger then Pepsi, or they would be terrible scared with all your and our stories." Jack smiled at her.

"Uh Sam, would you like to dance?" asked Daniel.

"Yes, Daniel," said the Captain as she got up. Daniel followed her to the dance floor.

"So Seal, do you think you could dance to this music?" asked Janet.

"I think I can. Being a Seal hasn't taken dancing away from me. The time not doing it, maybe, but not because I am a Seal." said Cal as he smiled and got up from the table with the Doctor Frazier.

That left Randi sitting at the table with Jack and Teal'c and the General. This could be very interesting if anything could break the ice of coldness from the General and Teal'c. Though she read in Teal'c's file that it was his nature to be like this.

"SSSSOOOOO," said Randi. Looking at the men. "Who is going to turn into a stone mountain first, you General Hammond or Teal'c? I know Jack can't be a stone mountain. Because he can't help from saying 'FOR CRYING OUT LOUD'. So it is going have to be between you two." She smiled at the two and only the General smiled back.

"Teal'c's muscles in his face don't work into a smile Randi, so don't hold your breath waiting,"said Jack with a laugh.

"Oh OK I will stop waiting for it," said Randi.

"I am going to get an other drink," said the General.

"OK, sir." said Jack.

"I will be back in a bit," said Randi as she pushed the wheelchair back. She moved off toward the ladies room.

"O'Neill, your friend is an interesting person. She brings new meaning to Earthling." I will not tell him yet that she is a possible danger to the planet. Though I will need to quickly if the threat comes up. Whether or not O'Neill believes in what I am saying will be an other thought.

"Yea Randi is something else. I've thought several times to see if we could get her transferred over to us. I think she would be get help with our job." Said Jack.

"Do you think that would be wise?" asked Teal'c.

"I don't think she would like being sent to an Air Force base," said Jack. He slid his chair back. "She is really into her family tradition of the Navy. Never could shake that off her. Her Uncle, the Admiral is the moon and the stars to her." Jack just smiled. "Teal'c are you OK? You look tense. Is there something going on that you haven't told me about?"

"Not at this time, O'Neill. I will know when it is time to tell you," said the Jaffa. He did turn so he could see the ladies room door. He wanted to watch for Randi and if he got a chance to talk to her alone to ascertain if there was any danger from her. The alien got up from the table and wandered over the dance floor to watch the others dance. Jack just sat there at the table to wait for Randi. This would be a good time to talk to her.

When Randi came out of the ladies room, she looked stare over at the table and saw Jack sitting there alone. She smiled and looked over at the dance floor. Cal was still out there dancing with the ladies. She smiled, it was good to see him relax after she dragged him away from his furlough. She would need to send him home now. The town he was from wasn't that far from here and it could be there in a couple of hours. She reached around for her coat and looked in the pocket and could see a set of keys in there. It was now or never. Hopefully he would not make a terrible scenes in the bar when she sent him home. Here goes nothing, thought Randi.

She moved over to where Teal'c was standing watching the dancers. Randi raised her hand to Cal when the music stopped. He saw her and came over to her.

"Cal, we need to talk." She was pretty sure that Teal'c could hear her, so this would look above board, but really it was more down and dirty then she really wanted to do.

"Sure, Randi." said the Seal. "Go ahead."

"It's time for you to go home. You are 2 hours away from home. I want you to take these keys to the car parked next to the van and get your stuff out of the van and go home. I have taken too much of your time away from your family. I want you to leave right now. There is no reason for you to stay. If I need anymore help, Jack can do it or I'll just forget it."

"But sir, you are not well enough to be left on your own You shouldn't be driving yourself..."

"Cal take the keys and go, that is an order." Randi said it with a stern look and the man took the keys from her and walked out the door. Not even going over to the table to say goodbye. Randi sighed some relief, that was done. She sat there collecting herself together to do what else needed to be done.

"Teal'c," said Randi as she turned her chair toward the big bald man. "Can we talk?"

"Yes I think that would be an excellent idea." said the Jaffa.

Jack sitting at the table, could see what was going on over by the dance floor. He saw Randi talking to Cal and he abruptly leaving the bar and now the woman was talking to Teal'c. They almost looked like they were huddled to together. They had been talking for awhile. Jack got up from his chair to check on them, when Randi moved her chair away from the Jaffa and came back over to the table.

"Hey Jackie, just getting to know your friend Teal'c. Nice guy. Too damn serious, but nice. He seems to worry a lot about you people. Kind of nice to know that someone is protecting your backside when I am not around." She parked the chair right next to Jack. "OK, Jack lets me and you get down to brass tacks." She smiled and raised her eyebrows at him.

"Brass tacks, great," said Jack. "I am not going to like any of this am I?"

"In a word, Jackieboy, no." Randi took a deep breath and looked around the room real quick.

"Why did you just scan the room for?" asked Jack. He knew the only time she called him Jackie or Jackieboy was when there something going on and she wanted to alert him without saying the words out loud.

"Well let me start this way. What was the best piece of advise you every gave me and I never took it?"

"Oh for crying out loud, Randi. What does Carlos have to do with this?" said the Colonel.

"Well I married him about 6 years ago," said the woman.

"You married that homicidal spy from the middle east. Are you completely crazy?" Jack was trying not to scream at her. How could she marry that guy? Carlos was dangerous from the get go and Randi knew it. She had to known it. Why the hell did she marry the nut job?

"Well it appears so, Jack. Any way I left him after six months and went into hiding with my work. That is only part of the terrific news I have for you. The reason I left after six months was because I found out I was with child. I had twins. A boy and girl, Jonathan Craig and Sarah Frances. Named them after my friends, if you couldn't tell." Reaching over for her Pepsi, Randi took a big drink. The really hard thing came out now after all this time. "I was afraid that Carlos might find out about the kids, so I put you down as the father." She waited for Jack to freak.

"YOU DID WHAT???" screamed Jack. Everyone in the bar looked over at them.

"Sorry," said Jack. "You were trying to protect them from Carlos. OK now what?"

"Well I think Carlos has found out about the kids. I was in South of France with them six months ago and bumped into Aries, you remember him? Carlos' right hand man."

"Yes I do," said Jack.

"Well Jonathan is a dead ringer for Carlos and Aries got a real good look at him and I think he went and told Carlos. He has been trying to find me since. I will not let the kids go with him. Though he could care less about Sarah, but still, I won't give them up. The thing is at the school where the kids are, you are listed as their Father. The kids know you aren't their father and Carlos is, but if something happens to me, the kids will be sent to you." OK everything was out now. Jack was either going to kill her on the spot or he was going to be the friend she knew he was.

Jack moved his chair back from the table. He seemed to working through of the information in his head. "OK what does that mean. They will be coming to me? To live with or hide them or what?"

"Well I was thinking of hiding them, but if you want them to live with you, that would be fine. Though who would watch them when you are hoping galaxies? No hiding them would be the best. You are going to have to wait on where I want you to hide them until the crisis comes up before I let you know that. Jack, are you too terrible disappointed in me?" Randi looked like she was about to cry. In all of her years, Randi hadn't cried for any reason, except when her Mother and Father died all those years ago.

"No I'm not disappointed in you. I just can't figure out why you married that nut case." said Jack.

"You of all people Jack, know that love is blind and stupid. When it hits you, it hits you," said Randi. She moved her empty glass a Pepsi away from her. If he knew the real reason you married that nut job, Randi, Jack would kill you for real, thought the woman. "I want to have to bases covered here in case Carlos try to something with me. I have it set up, so if I am missing for real reason, then the school will be contacted and the kids will be set to you. Carlos shouldn't know where you are, but I would still be careful about it. Watch out for his storm troops. I don't want you in any danger, Jack."

"I can take care of the kids and myself, Randi. I will do this for you, but you are going to owe me big time," said Jack with a smile.

"Like someone from the Air Force scares me." said Randi with a smile. "Look I have to get out of here now and head down to Vegas to see Craig and Frank. I need to get back to Uncle AJ to explain all this to him, but I wanted to drop the bomb on you first. I am sorry for not telling you all this a long time ago."

"So you want me to drive for you?" asked Jack.

"No, Jack. I can drive myself. My left foot is in the cast, not my right. I am a big girl now. So I will see you later on. I call when I get down there to Vegas, so you don't worry. Say goodbye to every one for me. Jack, I love you, man."

"I love you too Randi. Now get the hell out of here. Before I have to shoot you!" Jack was laughing and so was Randi.

Randi wheeled out to the van and opened the door to the drivers side door. Crawling inside the van, Randi was in the seat and pushing the wheelchair back with her cast foot to get the door closed. "shit," the woman. "Are you alive?'

"Yes," said a Mechanical female voice.

"Great, would you do away with the wheelchair." A humming filled the van and the wheelchair disappeared. Randi closed the door and started to look around for the van keys.

"Cal took the keys with him," said the Mechanical voice.

"Great. So start the van for me so we can get out of here." said Randi as the van's engine started. She put the vehicle into gear and it moved backwards. After pulling out of the space, Randi changed gears again and they moved forward. They drove in silence for awhile when Randi pulled the van over to the side of the road. "OK get us to Vegas to the Mirage hotel. That is where I have a room."

"Yes, Ranta," said the voice. The van hummed and shook a bit and they vanished from the Colorado country side. They appeared in the Mirage parking lot.

"Good going, Valon," said Randi. "Do a scan and find out if there is anyone we should know about around here."

"Comply," said Valon. "The hotel is still holding your room. At present moment the indicates no Ny Nocoma within the boundaries of Terra Las Vegas Nevada."

"Great," said Randi. "Do another scan please on the Earthlings Craig Donovan and Frank B. Parker. I would like an other wheelchair please."

"Scanning, they are located out at the military base, you downloaded into me and your ankle is healed," said Valon.

"Yes, I know, but while on Earth, I must be an Earthling." commented Randi as she slid out of the seat and on to the ground. A wheelchair appeared next to the van. "You are next Valon. I want to carry you with me." Sitting in the chair, Randi got comfortable and the van changed into a piece of suitcase. "Nice choose, Valon." Randi wheeled herself off toward to entrance to the hotel. "When I get to my room, remind me to call Jack in several hours. Want him to know that I got here safe."

"Confirm," said the computer.
